Although mostly a modern building, the property stands on the foundations of an old farmhouse and barn which were largely destroyed by fire some twenty years ago. However many of the old timbers salvaged from the disaster have been re-used in the present building and what was the barn, which was not badly damaged has been renovated and is now the dining room.
The previous owners of the property told Maria and Philip of an elderly German gentleman who would annually visit the house with his wife and they together would sit looking at the views and reminiscing of years gone by when he lived here as a child. Maria and Philip often say that they would have liked to have met this gentleman, who would have undoubtedly been able to tell them many interesting things.
Back in England, Maria and Philip decided to put their family home on the market and to make an offer to purchase Pensjonat Czerwony Dworek. Despite the housing market in England being very slow their house sold in a matter of days! They took this to be a good omen that they should proceed with their plans to emigrate to Poland and within four months they had done so, bringing their furniture, two dogs and cat with them.
Since then, they have put their hearts and souls in to renovating the property to bring it up to a high standard. A new kitchen has been installed and all the bedrooms have new carpets, curtains, beds and televisions. For our guests comfort there is also a comfortable sitting area upstairs with a gramophone.
